Emma Grace

Ever since I was pregnant with my little Emma She has given me scares; at about 6 months pregnant as I color hair I receive a phone call telling me I needed to meet with a specialist. They proceeded to tell me she may be down syndrome. We went to the specialist and they said many of the early signs looked as though she would be downs, the only sure way to know would be to do an amnio. So we did and anxiously awaited the results. As we contemplated the difficulties we could possibly have we were grateful to find out that she was perfectly normal. We had a beautiful healthy girl on June 27, 2009. Since then she has been a ray of sunshine (when not throwing a temper tantrum lol) Things were great until last December. My mom and I were setting up for a craft show and left her home with my brother when she escaped chasing the dogs across Bonanza to the Temple, while chasing her people knocked at the door. Luckily she was unharmed. In May she again went chasing the dogs and was in the middle of Bonanza when I got to her and once back on the side of the road several cars came racing up the street once again my angel was safe. Then in July she escaped my friends yard and walked a block away and we found her playing in the yard of a vacant house. Again unharmed. Then today August 21 as I unloaded the van from our trip to St George I walked in the house with a load of things to put away, leaving Emma by the van telling her not to get in as I walk out the door I see our van rolling down the hill, Panicked I yell to Jason to come fast I ran kicking my shoes off, catch the van jump inside as we hit our neighbors car and stop in the middle of the street. The emergency brake was on and the key safe inside the house but yet my precious little girl was able to pull the gear lever into drive. She and Liz were pretty shaken up as we got out of the car Liz says Emma don't do that again that was scary we need mom and dad's help to drive. Scared while feeling very blessed I am grateful for the blessings this day did bring, for the safety of my 2 girls. Remember to hold your little ones close life is so scary and things happen way too fast.
